Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of floors using appropriate methods such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness and shine.
• Conduct carpet cleaning procedures including extraction, spot removal, and deep cleaning to preserve carpet longevity and appearance.
• Operate floor care equipment such as buffers, polishers, and extractors safely and efficiently.
• Follow established janitorial protocols to ensure all areas meet health and safety standards.
• Assist with routine maintenance tasks like replenishing supplies and reporting any facility issues promptly.
• Maintain detailed logs of cleaning activities, equipment usage, and safety inspections to ensure accountability.
• Support environmental services initiatives by adhering to eco-friendly cleaning practices whenever possible.

Requirements

• Previous janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or institutional settings is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, sealing, and carpet cleaning is highly desirable.
• Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as buffers, vacuums, and extraction units safely.
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy equipment or supplies throughout shifts.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
