Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team with passion, precision, and a commitment to excellence. Duties
- Lead and manage nursing staff across multiple care settings, including supervising nurses, CNAs, and support personnel to ensure optimal team performance
- Develop, implement, and review comprehensive care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, ensuring alignment with medical and psychological requirements
- Oversee the documentation review process for medical records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate seamless communication regarding resident care and treatment progress
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for efficient documentation, scheduling, and reporting
- Ensure adherence to Medicare guidelines and other regulatory standards through regular audits and staff training
- Supervise shift management to guarantee proper staffing levels while maintaining high-quality care delivery
- Oversee MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments to support accurate billing and quality reporting
- Maintain knowledge of physiology and anatomy to guide clinical decision-making and staff education
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by providing leadership in nursing administration, staff development, and quality assurance initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health services, or hospice care environments
- Demonstrated leadership skills with previous nurse management or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and documentation review processes
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for managing medical records and documentation workflows
- Knowledge of Medicare regulations and compliance standards applicable to long-term care facilities
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with residents’ families, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies
- Ability to manage multiple shifts efficiently while maintaining high standards of resident care
- Certification as a registered nurse (RN) with active licensure in good standing; additional certifications in hospice or acute care are a plus
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and security of medical information
- Experience in developing care plans that meet individual resident needs while aligning with regulatory requirements
