What You’ll Do
As the Birthplace Nurse Director, you’ll direct and supervise nursing personnel, ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, and collaborate with the Chief Nurse Executive on budgeting, marketing, and departmental performance. You’ll lead with integrity, foster a culture of safety, and support the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centered care. Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and providing appropriate staffing based on departmental demand using tools to measure, track, and report processes Measured through productivity and management documentation
- Prioritizing employee safety and ensuring compliance with OSHA, Infection Control, and Environment of Care standards; providing staff training Measured through safety rounds, staff knowledge, and workers’ compensation trends
- Ensuring timely completion of interviews and adherence to St. Mary’s hiring procedures Measured by vacancy rate and time‑to‑fill
- Providing timely feedback to new hires through 90‑day evaluations and completing annual performance reviews Measured by 100% on‑time completion
- Assessing staff educational needs and developing structures to enhance knowledge, skills, and competencies Measured through competency documentation and education plans

Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- Current RN licensure in the State of Oklahoma and BLS required
- BSN required; Master’s in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business preferred
- Minimum one year of full‑time acute care nursing experience required
- Demonstrated leadership ability and decision‑making skills without direct supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related applications
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong data analysis skills
- Ability to keep teams focused on goals and timelines
- ACLS required within 3 months of employment
- NRP required within 6 months of employment
- Prior professional nursing experience demonstrating administrative and supervisory competence
