Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe seeks a dedicated Wildlife Refuge Manager to oversee the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge (DNWR) and Protection Island National Wildlife Refuge (PINWR). In this leadership role, you will manage the comprehensive operations of the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge (DNWR) and Protection Island National Wildlife Refuge (PINWR). You will exercise sound decision-making, provide strategic direction, and supervise a dedicated team to ensure the Refuges and their programs adhere to all applicable procedures, policies, and legal require

What You'll Do

  • Lead Refuge Conservation Initiatives: Develop and oversee long-range plans to protect and restore wildlife populations and their habitats..
  • Ecological Expertise: Guide habitat management, research, and monitoring initiatives to safeguard vulnerable species and foster a thriving ecosystem.
  • Community Connection: Foster strong relationships with the Tribe, US Fish and Wildlife Service, NGOs, and local agencies to achieve shared conservation goals.
  • Budgetary Savvy: Oversee refuge budgets, secure outside funding, and manage grant applications to support vital programs.
  • Team Leader: Supervise a team of dedicated professionals, fostering an inclusive and safe work environment with opportunities for growth.
  • Planning and Reporting: Lead long-range planning efforts, manage data collection, ensure timely reporting, and track sustainability metrics.
  • Safety First: Identify and address safety concerns for staff, volunteers, and visitors, maintaining a safe working environment.
