We’re looking for a dependable Production Associate to join our manufacturing team in Tampa. This position supports different areas of production and is a good fit for someone who works safely, pays attention to details, and is comfortable taking on different assignments as production needs change.

Previous experience in every production area is not required. You may assist in areas such as Laser, Press Brake, Powder Coat, and other manufacturing operations. JSG will provide applicable training before you operate equipment or perform work requiring specific training or authorization.

What You Will Do

• Assist operators and other production employees with material preparation, loading and unloading, part handling, staging, sorting, labeling, packing, and moving materials and completed parts.
• Review work instructions and verify part numbers, materials, quantities, labels, and other production information.
• Support Laser operations by assisting with material and part handling, sorting, deburring, labeling, stacking, and preparing completed parts for the next production operation.
• Support Press Brake operations by preparing, staging, positioning, organizing, handling, and moving materials and parts before and after forming.
• Support Powder Coat operations by loading and positioning parts, grouping like part numbers and colors, unloading completed parts, verifying quantities, labeling, organizing, and packing parts.
• Operate production equipment or perform equipment-related activities when assigned and appropriately trained and authorized.
• Visually check materials and parts and report damaged, improperly processed, incorrectly identified, or other nonconforming parts.
• Accurately count parts and complete required production checklists, labels, and other production records.
• Use hand tools and basic measuring or inspection tools as required for assigned work.
• Operate a forklift or other material-handling equipment when properly trained and authorized.
• Handle materials and parts carefully to help minimize damage, scrap, reruns, and unnecessary waste.
• Keep equipment, tools, materials, and assigned work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow JSG safety procedures, work instructions, production schedules, quality requirements, and supervisory direction.

What We Are Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills and the ability to accurately count parts and perform basic measurements.
• Ability to read and understand basic work instructions, part numbers, labels, quantities, and material information.
• Good attention to detail when handling materials, identifying parts, checking quantities, and looking for visible quality concerns.
• Willingness and ability to learn different manufacturing processes, equipment, and production requirements.
• Able to safely perform a variety of production and material-handling activities after receiving applicable training.
• Comfortable moving between different production assignments based on operational needs.
• Able to work independently on assigned tasks and as part of a manufacturing team.
• Able to obtain and maintain JSG-required forklift training and authorization when needed.

Preferred Experience

Previous manufacturing experience is preferred but is not required. Experience in any of the following areas would be helpful:

• Manufacturing, fabrication, metalworking, warehouse, or production environments
• Material handling, sorting, staging, labeling, or packing
• Basic hand tools or measuring tools
• Manufacturing or material-handling equipment
• Laser cutting, press brake, powder coating, metal fabrication, or similar manufacturing operations
• Mechanical equipment or machinery

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This is a hands-on manufacturing position, and you’ll be on your feet for much of the workday. The job regularly involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling, and handling production materials and parts.

You must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and/or move materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Material-handling equipment or team lifting is used for heavier or oversized items.

The position may work in different areas of the manufacturing facility around laser cutting equipment, press brake equipment, powder coating operations, production machinery, forklifts, material-handling equipment, sheet metal, metal components, and moving equipment. Required PPE and JSG safety procedures must be followed.
