We’re looking for an experienced and dependable Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team in Tampa. This is a hands-on position for someone who can work from blueprints, pays attention to measurements and details, works safely, and understands the importance of producing parts correctly and consistently.

You will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake equipment to bend and form metal parts. This includes selecting and setting up tooling, running production programs, following the correct bend sequence, checking finished parts against the print, and making machine adjustments when needed to keep parts within specification.

What You Will Do

• Review blueprints, work instructions, and production requirements before beginning each job.
• Verify material thickness and gauge and select the correct tooling for the part being produced.
• Set up and operate press brake equipment and machine controls.
• Install and set up press brake tooling based on the material, part, and production requirements.
• Load and run production programs and follow the required bend sequence.
• Properly position and orient parts throughout the forming process.
• Check the first completed piece against the blueprint before continuing the production run.
• Check parts throughout production to make sure bend angles, flange sizes, overall dimensions, and part orientation meet requirements.
• Use calipers, protractors, and other measuring tools to verify completed parts.
• Make machine-control adjustments to bend angles and flange dimensions when needed to maintain specifications.
• Program simple parts as assigned and save programs using the appropriate part, material, and tooling information.
• Identify and report tooling, equipment, quality, or production issues.
• Report scrapped or nonconforming parts so replacement parts can be produced when needed.
• Operate a forklift or other material-handling equipment when properly trained and authorized.
• Keep accurate production information and communicate job status to the following shift.
• Keep the press brake, tooling, measuring equipment, and surrounding work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow JSG safety procedures, work instructions, production schedules, and quality requirements.

What We Are Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing blueprints, drawings, dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and work instructions.
• Ability to understand bend locations, bend angles, part orientation, and other information needed to form parts to print.
• Comfortable using calipers, protractors, and other measuring and inspection tools.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and use press brake controls and production systems.
• Good attention to detail when checking tooling, measurements, part orientation, and finished-part quality.
• Able to stay organized and manage multiple part numbers and production requirements.
• Willing to learn press brake setup, tooling, machine controls, and programming.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to obtain and maintain JSG-required forklift training and authorization when needed.

Preferred Experience

Previous press brake and manufacturing experience is preferred. Experience in any of the following areas would be helpful:

• Press brake setup and operation
• Press brake tooling and machine setup
• Manufacturing, fabrication, or metalworking
• Reading manufacturing blueprints and working with dimensional tolerances
• Using calipers, protractors, and other precision measuring tools
• Press brake programming or machine-control adjustments
• Manufacturing machinery or other mechanical equipment

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This is a hands-on manufacturing position, and you’ll be on your feet for much of the workday. The job regularly involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling, and handling production materials and parts.

You must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and/or move materials, parts, and tooling weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Material-handling equipment or team lifting is used for heavier or oversized items.

The position works around press brake equipment, tooling, forklifts, moving machinery, sheet metal, and normal manufacturing noise. Required PPE and JSG safety procedures must be followed.
