We’re looking for a dependable Powder Coat Line Worker to join our manufacturing team in Tampa. This is a hands-on position for someone who pays attention to details, works safely, and understands the importance of properly identifying, handling, and finishing parts throughout the production process.

You will work in different areas of the powder coat line, including loading and unloading parts, verifying part numbers and colors, operating powder coating guns as assigned, checking finished parts for quality, and labeling and packing completed parts for the next stage of production.

What You Will Do

• Review work instructions and production requirements to verify the correct part number, quantity, and powder coat color.
• Load and properly position parts on the powder coat line.
• Group like part numbers and powder coat colors together as required.
• Rotate into powder coating operations and operate powder coating guns as assigned.
• Monitor parts during the coating process and identify visible coating defects, part damage, or other quality concerns.
• Unload completed parts and verify part identification and quantities.
• Label, organize, and pack completed parts on designated skids.
• Keep accurate part counts and complete required production records.
• Report damaged, improperly coated, or otherwise nonconforming parts.
• Operate the tab wrapper to wrap completed parts and skids as required.
• Operate a forklift or other material-handling equipment when properly trained and authorized.
• Handle coated parts carefully to help prevent scratching, chipping, contamination, or other damage to finished surfaces.
• Help minimize scrap, reruns, and damage to completed parts.
• Keep powder coating equipment, the production line, and surrounding work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow JSG safety procedures, work instructions, production schedules, and quality requirements.

What We Are Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills and the ability to accurately count parts.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions and accurately identify and match part numbers, powder coat colors, quantities, and production requirements.
• Good attention to detail when checking colors, part identification, finished surfaces, and completed work.
• Able to identify visible coating defects, part damage, incorrect colors, and other quality concerns.
• Able to stay organized and maintain accurate part identification throughout loading, coating, unloading, labeling, and packing.
• Willing to learn powder coating equipment, production processes, quality requirements, and safe work practices.
• Able to rotate between different powder coat line functions based on production needs.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to obtain and maintain JSG-required forklift training and authorization when needed.

Preferred Experience

Previous manufacturing or powder coating experience is preferred. Experience in any of the following areas would be helpful:

• Powder coating or industrial finishing
• Applying powder coating to metal parts
• Operating powder coating guns or similar finishing equipment
• Manufacturing, fabrication, or metalworking
• Loading, hanging, unloading, packing, or handling parts in a production environment
• Manufacturing machinery or other mechanical equipment

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This is a hands-on manufacturing position, and you’ll be on your feet for much of the workday. The job regularly involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling, and handling production materials and parts.

You must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and/or move materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Material-handling equipment or team lifting is used for heavier or oversized items.

The position works in an active manufacturing and powder coating environment around coating equipment, production lines, curing equipment, forklifts, metal parts, and moving equipment. The work may involve exposure to powder coating materials, airborne particulates, heat, noise, metal materials, and machinery. Required PPE and JSG safety procedures must be followed.
