Why This Job – Director of Marketing
We’ve partnered with a leading financial services company to help them find a Director of Marketing who is passionate about owning all aspects of the marketing funnel and curious enough to always explore new ideas. The brand at this firm is strong and they have a very deep and loyal customer base. The company has a strong marketing infrastructure in place, but they need someone who can tie it all together and amplify what they are already doing.
This person will have a holistic picture of the marketing funnel including brand development, SEO/AEO, advertising, public relations, content and more. You’ll have real authority to try new ideas and develop new strategies. The executive you are reporting to has been given rave reviews from her team and has resulted in their careers excelling. You’ll also be supervising a small team to help with content creation plus brand and web design. You’ll also direct some external consultants that are mostly autonomous and need minimal supervision.
The really exciting aspect about this role is the culture you’re walking into. It’s a homegrown operation that has created a real lifestyle business that is able to offer its team flexibility to enjoy their lives and families and allowing even the top executives work-life balance where they aren’t checking emails and Slack all weekend. If you are someone who has experience leading a marketing team and owning the entire funnel, but need a lifestyle change, this is a truly exceptional and rare opportunity here in Bozeman.
What You’ll Actually Do:
- Own the full marketing funnel from acquisition through retention and make sure all the moving parts connect.
- Drive SEO, AEO, and paid media performance across Google Ads, Meta Ads, and other channels. Identify what to test next.
- Manage brand voice, market positioning, and PR strategy in coordination with an external PR partner.
- Oversee the website, landing pages, and conversion assets to improve qualified contact growth.
- Build and run lifecycle marketing strategy across the full prospect and member journey.
- Lead your team and manage external agencies and contractors.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing Ops on pipeline, lead quality, attribution, and funnel reporting.
- Oversee podcast, blog, Reddit, and content distribution channels.
- Own the key metrics: funnel conversion, web traffic, new contacts, email engagement, and earned media.
What You Bring:
- 5 years owning marketing outcomes across the full funnel, not just one channel or one function.
- Management experience is required.
- Experience setting strategy and executing on it in an environment where you had to prioritize and make tradeoffs without a perfect playbook.
- Solid background in SEO/AEO, demand generation, lifecycle marketing, and brand and PR.
- Experience managing small teams and external partners. You know how to give direction and get out of the way.
- Working knowledge of HubSpot, Google Analytics, and Google Ads. You do not need to build the dashboards, but you need to know what the numbers mean.
- You can influence without authority and communicate clearly across teams with different priorities.
- Background in membership, subscription, or community-driven businesses is a strong plus. Financial services or fintech familiarity is helpful but not a gate.
Where and How Much:
Location: Hybrid schedule with most people working 2-3 days in the Bozeman office. Flexible work schedule and start/stop times.
