Maintenance Technician (Temporary)

Location: Glassboro, NJ

Pay Rate: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, starting at 8:30 AM

Type: Approximately 4-6 weeks but could be longer (coverage for employee on medical leave)

Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time Available

On-Call: Every other week

Position Overview

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to provide temporary support for a residential apartment community in Glassboro, NJ. This community consists of approximately 40 occupied apartments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on maintenance experience and strong customer service skills, as they will regularly interact with residents while performing repairs and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair work in occupied apartment units and common areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing issues.
• Respond to maintenance service requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Complete unit turnovers and minor repairs as needed.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and identify potential issues.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Provide excellent customer service while working in residents' homes.
• Participate in the on-call rotation every other week to respond to after-hours maintenance needs.
• Record completed work orders and communicate maintenance updates to management.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience in apartment, residential, commercial, or property management settings.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and complete general repair work independently.
• Comfortable entering and working within occupied apartments.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move maintenance equipment and materials as needed.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
