We are partnering with a leading, highly innovative organization in the aerospace & defense sector to identify a Director of Supply Chain to lead and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations for a critical business unit.
This is a senior leadership role with significant impact across procurement, planning, logistics, and supplier strategy, supporting complex, high-specification products in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for complex mechanical components
- Lead contract negotiations and supplier performance management
- Build and maintain a resilient, compliant supplier network
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and long-term supplier agreements
- Implement dual sourcing strategies to mitigate risk
Supply Chain Planning & Execution
- Lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team
- Oversee demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and reporting
- Optimize logistics, warehousing, and material flow
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with government and defense procurement regulations (e.g., ITAR, FAR, DFARS)
- Lead audit readiness and act as key point of contact for external audits
- Develop and maintain compliance programs, policies, and procedures
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure adherence to quality and regulatory standards
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and program teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
- Align supply chain strategy with broader business objectives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 8 years of supply chain leadership experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of defense/aerospace compliance standards
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Epicor)
- Proven leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Supply chain certifications (APICS, ISM) are a plus
Salary : $200,000 - $250,000
