Title: Plant Director
Location: Reading, PA area
I'm partnering with an industry-leading manufacturer seeking a Plant Director to lead one of its largest and most strategic production facilities. This is a high-visibility leadership role with executive support and the opportunity to drive meaningful operational and cultural transformation.
What You'll Lead:
✅ Full site responsibility for safety, quality, production, maintenance, engineering, and financial performance
✅ Lead approximately 200 employees with 7–10 direct reports, including Operations Managers and site leadership
✅ Own a large operating budget while driving efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement
✅ Build accountability, strengthen leadership, and create a high-performance culture
✅ Partner with corporate leadership on strategic initiatives and operational excellence
About the Operation:
✔ High-volume, 24/7 manufacturing facility
✔ Four production lines, modern facility
✔ Significant visibility within the manufacturing network and strong executive support
✔ SAP upgrade planned with continued investment in operational excellence
What Success Looks Like:
🔹 Build a strong, accountable leadership team
🔹 Improve shift execution, maintenance planning, and operational discipline
🔹 Increase reliability while consistently exceeding production targets
🔹 Drive a culture centered on ownership, urgency, and continuous improvement
🔹 Provide long-term leadership stability for a strategically important facility
Ideal Background:
🔹 5 years as a Plant Manager or Plant Director in a high-volume manufacturing environment
🔹 Proven success leading operational turnarounds, culture transformation, and performance improvement initiatives
🔹 Strong maintenance and reliability leadership with a systems-focused approach
🔹 Experience leading through union environments or labor-sensitive transitions is highly valued
🔹 High character, strong communication skills, and the ability to hold leaders accountable while developing talent
