Position Summary
The Auditor is responsible for monitoring and verifying cash handling, sales accuracy, and compliance with company procedures at Barksdale’s Cookies locations throughout the Iowa State Fairgrounds. This position ensures financial integrity, accuracy in reporting, and adherence to operational and safety standards. The Auditor will work closely with management to identify discrepancies, maintain accountability, and support daily business operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Verify cash register balances, drops, and sales reports for accuracy
- Audit cash drawers, voucher transactions
- Report and document discrepancies or policy violations promptly to management
- Observe cashiers to ensure procedures are followed correctly
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial and personnel information
- Support managers and supervisors in resolving transaction or count discrepancies
- Represent Barksdale’s Cookies with professionalism, discretion, and integrity at all times
Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior experience in auditing, accounting, or cash management preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, warm environment
- Reliable and punctual attendance required
- Must maintain confidentiality and demonstrate trustworthiness at all times
