Job Summary
The Academic Success Coach supports students in the Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) by providing individualized and small-group academic assistance to improve course performance, study skills, and overall academic confidence. This role helps students strengthen content knowledge, develop effective learning strategies, and stay engaged in their academic goals while promoting persistence and success in school.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core academic subjects (e.g., Math, English, Science, Social Studies)
• Support students in understanding assignments, completing coursework, and preparing for exams
• Reinforce study skills, organization, time management, and academic habits
• Adapt tutoring strategies to meet individual student learning needs
• Track and report student attendance and academic progress during tutoring sessions
• Communicate student progress and concerns to program staff as needed
• Encourage student motivation, confidence, and engagement in learning
• Support SEL (social-emotional learning) by fostering a positive and supportive learning environment
• Assist with program activities and academic enrichment sessions as needed
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student participation
• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and staff to support student needs
• Present program information to students, families, and school staff
• Attend and support occasional evening events such as parent-teacher nights, financial aid workshops, and college admission events
• Ensure all student data and documentation are accurate, complete, and submitted on time
Qualifications:
Qualifications
• Education: High school diploma required; college coursework or degree in Education, STEM, English, Social Sciences, or related field preferred
• Experience: No prior experience required; strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting youth and helping students succeed are essential
• Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, ability to build positive relationships, and capacity to explain concepts clearly and support student learning
• Other: Commitment to student success and ability to work with diverse learners

Work Environment
