Strategic Sourcing Specialist
Overview
Intepros is seeking a detail-oriented Strategic Sourcing Specialist for our valued client, to support sourcing, procurement, and supplier management activities for new product development and ongoing operations. This role partners closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Category Management teams to ensure timely and cost-effective material sourcing while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early-career experience in procurement or supply chain who enjoys working cross-functionally and contributing to product development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support sourcing efforts for prototype and production materials, including supplier research and RFQ (Request for Quote) generation
- Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders and manage order lifecycle through delivery
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any delays or issues
- Assist in onboarding new suppliers, including documentation, compliance, and system setup
- Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to support new product development (NPD) and first article approvals
- Troubleshoot invoice discrepancies and purchasing issues; identify root causes and implement solutions
- Manage RMA (Return Material Authorization) processes with vendors
- Participate in sourcing and cost analysis activities for new product launches
- Maintain sourcing records, supplier agreements, and cost data for MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) categories
- Support supplier negotiations through data collection and basic analysis
- Assist with inventory planning, purchasing activities, and cost optimization initiatives
- Contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing and procurement processes
- Work within ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for purchasing, planning, and reporting activities
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in supplier management, sourcing, or procurement
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar)
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Professional certifications such as ISM or APICS
- Experience supporting engineering or new product development environments
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with standard business hours (Monday–Friday)
- Occasional extended hours may be required based on project deadlines
- Minimal travel required
