Electrical Technician

Position Summary

We are hiring experienced switchgear technicians/leads to support production operations, coach team members, and help drive continuous improvement. Candidates should have strong technical ability, solid manufacturing experience, and the capability to train others.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily coaching and performance feedback to team members
• Support process improvements and cost-reduction initiatives
• Plan and coordinate daily staffing and resource needs
• Assist with budgeting and manage department expenses
• Communicate daily production plans and address issues impacting output or customer service
• Identify and escalate material shortages; collaborate with Purchasing/Expediting
• Monitor workflow and bottlenecks to maintain efficiency
• Report downtime and work with Maintenance/Test Support on equipment issues
• Track time for NPI, pre-production, and rework activities
• Ensure effective handoff communication with the opposite shift
• Maintain department communication boards
• Monitor quality indicators and stop production when targets fall below standards
• Serve as primary contact for scrap or quality issues at any process step

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree, technical training, or equivalent experience preferred
• Minimum 4 years of related manufacturing/switchgear experience
• Strong technical and process knowledge; able to support and train others
• Ability to read and interpret moderately complex instructions, diagrams, and schedules
• Effective communication skills for small group and one-on-one settings
• Solid math skills (rate, ratio, percent, basic conversions, graph interpretation)
• Strong practical problem-solving ability across varied production situations
