Business Analyst, Technical
Location: Portland, OR (Hybrid – Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Duration: 6-Month Contract (Potential for Conversion)
Pay Rate: Up to $60/hr on W2
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Business Analyst to support client implementations and enhancements for a leading healthcare technology organization. This role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders, clients, and technical teams, ensuring successful delivery of software solutions that meet business requirements and align with best practices.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, technical aptitude, and client-facing experience to drive implementations from requirements gathering through deployment and post-launch support.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand business needs and recommend solution options.
- Author clear and detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Support software implementations, enhancements, and configuration activities.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve functional and technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), documenting feedback and communicating requirements to development teams.
- Provide post-production support and ensure smooth transition to long-term support teams.
- Conduct client training sessions and knowledge-transfer activities as needed.
- Partner with Product and Development teams to provide feedback on product functionality and enhancement opportunities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve implementation processes and client outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 1–2 years of Business Analyst, Technical Analyst, or related experience.
- Experience gathering, documenting, and managing business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Experience supporting software implementation or technology-focused projects.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- Pivot Tables
- Formulas and Functions
- Named Ranges
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and managing client expectations.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience supporting Quality Assurance (QA) or User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Experience within healthcare, wellness, health plans, or related industries.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Experience delivering client-facing training and presentations.
