Key Responsibilities
- Algorithm Development: Research and implement state-of-the-art supervised learning algorithms and reinforcement learning specifically tailored for complex robotic manipulation.
- Simulation & Real-World Alignment: Design robust simulation models and domain randomization strategies, collaborating closely with the robotics team to ensure seamless sim-to-real transfer.
- Performance Optimization: Design and execute rigorous experiments to optimize model architectures, focusing on sample complexity, policy performance, and real-time execution constraints.
- Data & Pipeline Engineering: Develop and maintain scalable data management pipelines for both real-world and synthetic data, maximizing data efficiency.
- On-Robot Evaluation: Deploy, evaluate, and debug trained policies directly on physical hardware; identify bottlenecks and implement iterative improvements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a closely related technical field.
- Core Expertise: Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of modern reinforcement learning and supervised learning paradigms.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level Python skills and extensive experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.
- Architectural Depth: Deep understanding of modern architectures, including Transformers, CNNs, and Foundation Models.
- Robotics Toolkit: Hands-on experience with physics engines (e.g., Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, PyBullet) and robotics middleware (ROS/ROS2).
- Engineering Rigor: A strong commitment to clean code, version control, and highly reproducible experimental workflows.
- Proven Track Record: A history of publications in top-tier robotics/ML conferences (e.g., ICRA, IROS, CoRL, NeurIPS), or a strong portfolio of projects demonstrating practical, real-world expertise.
