What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Household Manager position at Insight Recruitment?
Do you find genuine satisfaction in creating order, anticipating needs and making someone else's life easier?
Some people are happiest when they're bringing calm to busy lives. They naturally notice what needs to be done, communicate proactively, enjoy solving problems and take pride in helping everything run smoothly.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to introduce you to a truly unique long-term opportunity.
We're recruiting on behalf of a wonderful family seeking an experienced Private Household Manager to become a trusted partner in helping their home run seamlessly. This is much more than coordinating schedules or running errands—it's an opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term relationship with a family who genuinely values the person in this role.
The children are school-aged, so while childcare remains an important part of the position, the primary focus is overseeing the day-to-day operations of the household and creating an environment where life feels organized, calm and under control.
What You'll Be Doing

You'll help oversee the daily operations of the household by:
- Coordinating schedules, appointments, vendors and household projects.
- Anticipating needs and solving problems before they become problems.
- Supporting the children before and after school, including transportation and activities as needed.
- Coordinating a household helper and helping prioritize daily and weekly responsibilities.
- Assisting with meal planning, grocery shopping and household organization.
- Running occasional errands and managing a variety of household and personal projects.
- Communicating proactively throughout the day so everyone stays informed and nothing falls through the cracks.
Who We're Looking For
We're much more interested in who you are than checking every box on a résumé.
The people who thrive in this role are naturally dependable, emotionally mature and highly organized. They don't wait to be told what to do—they take ownership, communicate well, exercise good judgment and genuinely enjoy helping others.
Many successful candidates come from backgrounds such as:
