VMware Engineer

Must-Haves:

• 7 years of experience working with VMWare
• Strong experience working within a windows environment
• Strong experience with VCF – Virtual Cloud Foundation
• Experience working with ESXI, vSphere, and vCenter
• Experience with troubleshooting for VMware
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of virtual infrastructure
• Scripting experience
• Bachelors Degree

Day to Day:

Insight Global is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to work for one of our Fortune 250 manufacturing client. This person is going to be working on a team of 5-6 individuals. They have a 3,000 virtual server environment and are looking for someone with experience overseeing this size of environment. This person is going to be working with team members around VCF projects. The project is currently under the way and expected to last through EOY. This person is going to be doing troubleshooting on the VMware environment. They will also be setting up, configuring, and optimizing data store clusters. Our client is also looking for an individual who is proficient in Iac (Infrastructure-as-Code), VisualBasic. The responsibilities surrounding these areas are listed below. The ideal candidate has a passion for system enhancements and administration using best practices, modern security best practices, and information technology solutions.

Some additional responsibilities will include:

• Using VCF (Virtual Cloud Foundation) for tasks such as:
• design and deploy VCF stacks tailored to enterprise needs
• Setting up vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and SDDC Manager
• Security compliance
• Automation scripting
• Troubleshooting across vCenter, ESXi, and NSX-T layers
• Setting up vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and SDDC Manager
• Using Visual Basic for tasks such as:
• Scripting
• Automating Windows-based server tasks
• Managing Active Directory and IIS configurations
• Performing basic inventory operations in vSphere environments
• Using IaC for tasks such as:
• Automating the provisioning, configuration, and management of virtual infrastructure especially in environments using vSphere, vCenter, and NSX-T
• Configuration Management

Compensation:

$60/hr to $65/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
