About the Role
We’re hiring a senior traffic engineering leader to drive the technical development and quality control of traffic control device plans—including traffic signals, signs, pavement markings, lighting systems, ITS systems, and maintenance-of-traffic plans—in alignment with state standards. You’ll manage multidisciplinary project teams through construction package delivery, serve as Engineer of Record or Project Manager, and mentor junior engineers and designers. You’ll also collaborate directly with roadway, structures, and drainage leads and external agencies to ensure seamless integration and compliance, while engaging clients on scoping, proposals, and strategic growth in traffic engineering.
What You’ll Do
- Lead technical design and QA/QC for traffic control device plans in compliance with state standards.
- Manage multi‑disciplinary teams to prepare complete construction packages for transportation projects.
- Coordinate with internal leads and external agencies to ensure integration and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and approve engineering documentation, technical calculations, and submittals as EOR/PM.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers/designers; uphold project QA/QC procedures.
- Partner with clients on scoping, proposal development, and new traffic engineering opportunities.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) or 10 years of progressive traffic design experience with project and staff management.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Expert proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
- Comprehensive knowledge of traffic engineering policies, standards, and procedures.
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Strong capability to deliver multiple concurrent projects on scope, schedule, and budget.
Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
