Insight Global is helping a Semiconductor industry client find a Field Application Engineer. They are experiencing strong year-over-year growth and are expanding their Field Application Engineering team.
As a Field Application Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical resource supporting customers throughout the product development lifecycle. Working closely with the sales team, you will help customers evaluate, design, and implement Nordic's wireless and low-power semiconductor solutions across industrial, medical device, and IoT applications. This highly customer-facing role combines embedded software development, hardware debugging, technical consulting, and relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain technical relationships with customers throughout the design and development process.
- Partner with Regional Sales Managers during customer meetings, presentations, and technical discussions.
- Understand customer product requirements and recommend appropriate Nordic solutions.
- Support customers utilizing Bluetooth Low Energy, cellular, Wi-Fi, Thread, and other wireless technologies.
- Customize and modify sample code to help customers integrate Nordic semiconductor products into their applications.
- Assist customers with embedded software development, firmware implementation, and hardware debugging.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges and provide timely solutions during product development.
- Create demonstrations, proof-of-concept applications, and reference designs showcasing Nordic technology.
- Serve as the technical expert within the sales organization and communicate Nordic's value proposition to customers.
- Support approximately 5-10 key accounts at a time.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related field
- 5 years of embedded systems experience involving both hardware and software development
- Strong programming experience with C/C
- Experience working with ARM-based microcontrollers
- Hands-on hardware debugging and troubleshooting experience
- Customer-facing experience supporting products, projects, or technical solutions
- Experience with wireless communication technologies such as Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, cellular, Thread, or Zigbee
Plusses:
- Experience with Zephyr RTOS or other real-time operating systems
- IoT product development experience
- Experience connecting embedded devices to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Background supporting industrial, medical device, or connected product manufacturers
Salary : $130,000 - $190,000
