Technical Business Analyst
Location: New York, NY (Onsite 3 days/week)
Pay: $50-60/hr
Overview:
Insight Global is seeking a technically strong Technical Business Analyst with deep experience in Power BI, Power Apps, and the Microsoft Power Platform to support analytics, reporting, and scalable workflow solutions. This is a high‑impact role focused on rapid dashboard development, translating complex business needs into sustainable technical solutions, and introducing forward‑thinking approaches to enterprise analytics and architecture.
This individual will work closely with senior stakeholders across investment, finance, and accounting teams, acting as a trusted partner who can clearly communicate technical concepts while promoting scalable, enterprise‑ready practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
- Design and build Power BI dashboards from the ground up, establishing strong data models and best practices
- Develop and experiment with Power Apps and Microsoft Power Platform solutions to support scalable workflows
- Evaluate existing dashboards and analytics solutions, recommending improvements to data structure, architecture, and sustainability
- Create clear, thorough documentation covering requirements, architecture, workflows, and user guidance
- Provide guidance on when and how AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) should be applied responsibly within enterprise environments
- Assist in transforming ad‑hoc or Python‑heavy solutions into scalable, maintainable Microsoft‑based solutions
- Collaborate closely with senior leaders to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively
Must‑Have Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst
- Strong Power BI experience, including building dashboards from scratch
- Hands‑on experience with Power Apps and the Microsoft Power Platform
- Solid data management skills with a strong understanding of data best practices
- Excellent documentation skills with strong attention to clarity and structure
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, comfortable engaging with all levels of the organization
- Must be located in New York
- Able to work onsite 3 days per week

- Experience working in smaller, startup‑like, or lean organizations
- Exposure to enterprise AI solutions; familiarity with Claude preferred
