What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Cyber Security Engineer position at Insight Global?
This position focuses on designing, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise SSO, MFA, and federated identity solutions (SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC) in Docker/Kubernetes environments, monitoring emerging identity threats, and building detection mechanisms. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with proven advanced troubleshooting skills in the Ping suite, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently; experience with HYPR, Affirm, or other passwordless/phishing-resistant authentication solutions is a strong plus, along with scripting/automation, cloud identity, FIDO2/WebAuthn, Linux, firewalls, IDS/IPS, or penetration testing experience.
Key Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience needed
- Hands-on Ping Federate experience (PingFederate, PingID, Ping Access) – strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently are a must
- Experience with Docker technologies and Kubernetes
- Good communication skills and true self-starter
- HYPR, Affirm, or other passwordless authentication experience is a big plus
Additional Responsibilities & Skills:
- Monitor new and emerging security threats from various sources
- Assist with creating product detection mechanisms based on emerging threats
- Working knowledge of Linux, Firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, and penetration testing
- Strong hands-on experience with many of the following: L2/L3 firewalls, application-layer security, IDS/IPS, anti-virus, anti-malware, DDoS mitigation, traffic profiling/anomaly detection, wireless security, VPN, and VoIP security
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues using network traces and packet captures
- Maintains the highest levels of client assurance and confidence
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 2–5 years direct security implementation experience (in addition to the 5–8 years senior-level experience)
