Location: Garden City, ID
Duration: Yearlong contract, possible to extend
Pay: $45-$60 h/r
Must Have:
- 5 years of site safety management experience in a commercial construction setting
- Minimum BCSP – CHST Certification (certified health and safety technician) or SMP Certification (safety management professional) or CSP (certified Safety Professional)
- Minimum OSHA 510, Osha 500 is strongly preferred
- Competency in NFPA 70E and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Strong technical knowledge and executive-level administrative skills
- Experienced in preparing and managing incident reports
- Proficient with platforms like Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, PDF editing tools, Safety Culture Auditor, Box, and Smartsheet
Day to Day:
- Onsite 5 days a week at job site
- Doing site walks, hazard prevention
- Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for employees, customers and the public.
- Act as the technical safety advisor to Company management and supervision and ensure that all personnel comply with all relevant current labor laws and regulations as well as with new regulations affecting the industry and/or operations.
- Perform frequent safety inspections and audits at the job site.
- Perform frequent job walks and job/ site hazard analysis with supervision and sales staff as necessary for pro-active safety planning and decision-making purposes.
- Perform incident investigations, reports, and help to develop corrective actions as necessary. Identifies key injury and/or safety trends and communicates such to management.
- Ensure that the appropriate safety records are maintained.
- Facilitate cultural change to drive Company safety performance
- Mentor and coach management towards achieving a positive and pro-active culture.
- schedule, facilitate, and track safety training to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- May act as company representative on issues relating to environmental protection concerns and interfaces as necessary with environmental regulatory agencies and audits project site compliance with environmental protection requirements.
- Participate in educational opportunities, reads professional and technical publications, maintain personal networks, and participates in professional organizations to maintain technical knowledge.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as directed by company executives.
- Safety Manager is responsible for overall subcontractor safety program execution, management of subcontractor safety coordinators, sub-tier management, case & Care management, OCIP/CCIP claims, craft training, safety administration, work coordination, High risk activity planning and development, etc.
