Insight Global is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Officer to support a major environmental construction project in Crows Landing, CA. As the EHS Officer, you will play a critical role in implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and to promote a culture of safety across the project site. You’ll provide hands-on field support, coordinate safety initiatives, and maintain various health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure the highest possible degree of safety for employees
Key Responsibilities:
Support the execution of the HSE program in the field, ensuring alignment with all applicable regulations and internal standards.
Demo of multiple buildings (including a boiler building with a refractory grit inside)
Coordinate and maintain training and certification records.
Conduct and log Safe Work Observations (SWOs).
Oversee subcontractor safety compliance and qualification documentation.
Prepare and manage project-specific HSE documentation, including HASPs and field binders.
Track and analyze data related to near misses, incidents, stop work events, and SWOs.
Assist in transitioning HSE documentation and reporting to digital platforms.
Support root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
Qualifications:
5 years of experience in environmental remediation or related construction safety roles.
Strong knowledge of HSE practices in the construction industry, including experience leading field safety meetings and quarterly reviews.
Proven experience preparing HSE documentation such as Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) and field binders.
Hands-on experience working in confined spaces and operating heavy equipment (e.g., graders, excavators).
Experience in or around NORM or radioactivity
Experience working in confined space entry
