What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Coordinator position at Insight Global?
Insight Global is seeking a Safety Representative to support a tool installation and process piping project within an active manufacturing environment. This individual will work closely with construction, facilities, and contractor teams to promote safe work practices during piping modifications, equipment installation, and startup activities.
The ideal candidate will have safety experience in industrial construction, manufacturing, chemical processing, oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, pharmaceuticals, or similar environments where Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hazardous materials, and process systems are present.
Responsibilities
- Support daily safety activities for construction and equipment installation projects.
- Monitor field work and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
- Participate in pre-task planning meetings, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
- Verify proper use of PPE, including respiratory protection when required.
- Support work involving process piping systems and equipment tie-ins.
- Ensure Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are understood and followed.
- Conduct routine jobsite inspections and document observations.
- Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Partner with contractors, facilities personnel, and project teams to maintain a safe work environment.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 years of safety experience in construction, industrial manufacturing, chemical processing, refinery, pharmaceutical, energy, or similar environments.
- Experience supporting projects involving hazardous energy control (LOTO).
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices and OSHA regulations.
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience working around process systems, piping, utilities, or production equipment.
- Strong communication and field presence.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, chemical plant, refinery, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industrial environments.
- Familiarity with hazardous chemical handling and chemical safety programs.
- Experience supporting equipment installation, tool installation, or industrial construction activities.
- OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 Certification preferred.
Salary : $45 - $55
