RF Test Automation Engineer

A client in Chandler, AZ is looking to bring on a RF Test Automation Engineer to join their team. This will be a permanent position, working on a Monday-Friday on-site schedule. This role pays $140K depending on years of experience. They will be working alongside the software, hardware, and system engineering teams. Their main responsibility is to automate verification and validation testing to ensure engineering designs meet product specifications.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Ability to take system, hardware and software level requirements and develop verification test procedures.
• Creation and setup of test fixtures and test stations.
• Ability to create, interpret, modify programming source code in multiple languages such as Python, C and LabVIEW for automated test software.
• Supports Integration and Test, Design Verification, First Article and Production test.
• Ability to troubleshoot moderate to complex satellite communication equipment and firmware.

Experience with RF test methods and developing test automation for:

• Frequency Response
• Gain Flatness and Stability
• P1-dB Compression
• Third Order Intermodulation
• Harmonics and Spurious Emissions
• Noise Figure
• Phase Noise
• Error Vector Magnitude (EVM)

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related work experience is required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with test equipment and software, such as Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Phase Noise Analyzers, Signal Source Analyzers and Signal Generators
• Minimum 5 years of experience in programming in Python preferred

Skills:

• Understanding of modern satellite communications and RF engineering.
• Experience automating test equipment over remote GPIB, Ethernet, RS-232 and SNMP.
• Experience with RF related test equipment.
• Experience with RF calibration automaton.
