Required Skills & Experience
• Degree in electrical engineering or related field (or equivalent military/industry experience) very much preferred
• 6 years in electrical quality assurance or inspection within defense, aerospace, or shipbuilding manufacturing.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD certifications strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MIL-SPEC, NAVSEA electrical standards, and AS9100/ISO 9001.
• Experience in non-destructive testing (NDT), first article inspections (FAI) and government acceptance processes much preferred
• Experience with electrical testing tools and methods (e.g., multimeters, megohm testers).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and integration plans.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for working with engineers, technicians, and government reps.
Job Description
The Quality Assurance Specialist for electrical integration is someone who ensures all electrical systems and components for Navy platforms (ships, submarines, autonomous systems) meet military standards and work flawlessly when integrated. This role is hands-on with inspections, troubleshooting, and verifying compliance during electrical assembly and integration.
Key Responsibilities
• Inspect and test electrical components, wiring, and integrated systems to confirm compliance with MIL-SPEC and Navy standards.
• Verify electrical integration against engineering drawings, schematics, and technical data.
• Perform continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, and other electrical QA procedures.
• Identify and resolve integration issues during production and installation.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with engineering, production, and supply chain teams.
• Document inspection results and maintain traceability for audits and customer reviews.
• Support government acceptance inspections (DCMA, NAVSEA) and customer testing.
• Train production teams on electrical QA standards and best practices.
