Production Planner
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Production Scheduling: Create and maintain production schedules that align with customer orders, sales forecasts, and inventory levels. Balance the need for timely production with efficient resource utilization.
- Contractor Manufacturing: Manage close relations with manufacturing vendor to ensure production planning meets production targets and schedules.
- Material Planning: Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure that necessary raw materials, components, and resources are available for production. Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Demand Forecasting: Adjust production plans to address customers’ demand and accommodate fluctuations in demand.
- Capacity Analysis: Evaluate the production capacity of the facility and ensure that production plans are feasible based on available resources, equipment, and labor. Identify potential bottlenecks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Communication: Coordinate with various departments, such as production, procurement, sales, and logistics, to ensure smooth information flow and alignment of goals. Keep stakeholders informed about production timelines and any potential issues.
- Priority Setting: Determine the priority of different production orders based on customer needs, order deadlines, and resource availability. Adjust schedules as needed to address urgent orders or changes in requirements.
- Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, on-time delivery, and inventory turnover.
- Risk Management: Address potential production-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions, equipment failures, or workforce shortages. Develop contingency plans to minimize the impact of such risks.
Job Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a production planner or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using production planning and ERP software.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies – advantage.
Salary : $60,000 - $90,000
