Required Skills & Experience
- 5 years of experience in telecommunications project installation and/or design
- Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems, wiring techniques, and layout design principles
- Experience with campus-wide infrastructure design, including fiber connectivity and OSP layouts
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for drafting schematics and layouts (preferred)
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and BICSI best practices
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Excellent communication and technical problem-solving skills
- BICSI RCDD or OSP certification, or willingness to obtain within 6 months
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Project Engineer to lead modernization initiatives for campus-wide fiber connectivity. In this role, you will:
- Analyze legacy GIS and CAD data to determine cost-effective strategies for cabling modernization
- Conduct site surveys to assess existing infrastructure and provide improvement recommendations
- Design and draft layouts, schematics, and plans for outside plant (OSP) cabling systems using tools such as BlueBeam Revu, AutoCAD, and GIS
- Engineer end-to-end modernization of OSP fiber installations, including both buried and aerial applications
- Perform quality assurance inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
- Assist in developing project plans, timelines, and resource requirements for installation projects
- Provide technical support and training to clients on system installation, operation, and maintenance
Salary : $35 - $44
