GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible for performing a variety of diversified duties involving implementation, administration and support of local and wide area computer networks. Works with the Information Technology staff to identify network hardware/software needs, resolve network hardware/software problems and to determine/implement the appropriate network solutions. Ensures network hardware and software support is accomplished in accordance with established policies and procedures. Provides network and server technical expertise/leadership to Information Technology Staff. Oversee the daily operations of the network information technology by performing all the necessary tasks and assignments related to continuous secure network operations. Participates in the development of strategic plans for network evolution with IT Network Manager. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the direct supervision of the IT Network Manager. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsible for support and maintenance of network and server hardware and software; ensures compliance with technical architecture and standards; monitors network and servers' usage and makes necessary adjustments to ensure optimum performance; maintains and is responsible for network and system security; monitors server-based applications usage and performance, and makes necessary adjustments to ensure optimum operation; identifies and recommends system/network/application enhancements and improvements that are necessary to maintain reliable computing services: investigates hardware and software problems that may occur and initiates appropriate corrective action; administers user accounts and services; manages the addition, changes, and removal of system and network hardware; performs daily network and system management activities such as backups, troubleshooting and repair; analyzes hardware and software requirements; makes hardware and software recommendations to the IT Network Manager; communicates effects of any pending or active hardware and software corrective actions, enhancements and modifications to all users and IS staff; prepares and maintains written procedures applicable to the administration, troubleshooting and support of computer systems, networks, and applications; identifies the need and participates in network/system related projects; utilizes networking expertise to support and maintain strategic plans for network evolution; interfaces with and coordinates vendor related support; performs any tasks requested or assigned by the IT Network Manager or his/her designee. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Assumes roles and responsibilities in the absence of IT Network Manager. Performs related work as required. Cloud based technologies (ex: Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure/Entra). 2. Modern Server Operating Systems (ex: Windows Server 2019 and newer). 3. Hybrid AD and Identity Management. 4. Network Security and Policy management in a windows environment. 5. Routing, Switching, Network Access Control, Wireless, Firewall, and content filtering support. 6. Centralized Network/Desktop Management platforms (Ex: Intune, Mosyle, SCCM, Citrix, RDS, etc.) 7. Virtual environments (ex: Azure, Hyper-V, VMWare, etc.) 8. Storage Area Networks/Virtualized Storage, Backup/restore/disaster recovery 9. Remote access technologies (VPN/SDWAN/RDS, etc.) 10. Apple Enterprise Management (Ex: MacOS, IOS devices, Apple Business Manager/Apple School Manager)
