What are the responsibilities and job description for the Multimedia/ Connectivity Test Engineer position at Insight Global?
You will be responsible for validating the software stack across Audio, Display/Touch, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth functionalities. While deep expertise in all these areas is a plus, we are looking for a candidate with a mastery of QA/Testing fundamentals and specialized experience in at least one of these domains. We value a "self-starter" who can leverage their strong testing background to quickly learn and master new technical areas within the infotainment ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
• Domain Validation: Design and execute test strategies for infotainment features, including audio routing, display responsiveness, and wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi/BT).
• QA Leadership: Utilize a strong foundation in testing methodologies to create comprehensive test plans, identifying edge cases and system-level dependencies.
• Platform Testing: Conduct deep-dive testing on Android (AAOS) and Linux based systems.
• Manual & Automation: Perform hands-on manual testing on HIL benches and in-vehicle, while simultaneously developing and maintaining automation scripts to improve efficiency.
• Rapid Ramp-up: Proactively learn and take ownership of new feature areas within the connectivity and multimedia suite as project needs evolve.
• Root Cause Analysis: Isolate complex software bugs across the stack using system logs (ADB, Logcat, dmesg, Wireshark) and collaborate with developers on fixes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment to ensure software meets production-ready standards.
Required Qualifications
• Experience: 10 years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance and Testing.
• Specialized Knowledge: Proven experience in at least one of the following domains:
• Audio: Acoustics, routing, volume management, or playback frameworks.
• Connectivity: Wi-Fi (802.11 protocols) or Bluetooth (HFP, A2DP, BLE, pairing).
• Display/Touch: HMI responsiveness, rendering, or touch-controller validation.
• Strong QA Foundation: Expert-level understanding of the SDLC, test case design, regression testing, and defect lifecycle. Ability to apply these principles to new technologies quickly.
• OS Expertise: Solid experience testing on Android and/or Linux platforms.
• Automotive Experience: Previous experience with automotive infotainment (IVI) or vehicle systems is highly preferred.
• Automation: Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for test automation.
