Position: Metrology Engineer
Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Ongoing Contract (1 Year installments)
Pay Rate: $45-$55 Hourly Based On Experience

Overview
We are seeking a Metrology Engineer to commission a recently procured Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) for a medical device company in Jacksonville. This role will be responsible for installing, validating, calibrating, and launching the CMM into production. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Mold Tooling, Quality, Validation, and Safety teams to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Commissioning
- Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables for CMM implementation.
- Develop technical specifications and performance requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee installation and commissioning.
- Lead IQ (Installation Qualification) and OQ (Operational Qualification) processes.
- Ensure proper integration into existing systems.
Programming & Validation
- Develop or oversee development of CMM programs for part inspection.
- Collaborate with Quality and Validation teams to execute validation protocols.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, Mold Tooling, Quality, Validation, and Safety departments.
- Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
- 5 years of experience with Metrology in a regulated environment.
- Proven experience with CMM equipment and programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
- Strong understanding of IQ/OQ/PQ and validation processes.
- Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with mold tooling and precision measurement.
- Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards in manufacturing environments.
- PMP or similar project management certification.
Salary : $45 - $55
