We’re seeking a mechanical engineer with deep expertise in SCBA or similar products. This leadership role focuses on mechanical design and development, driving innovation while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design and development of SCBA mechanical components and sub-systems.
- Guide engineers through all phases of New Product Development, meeting cost, reliability, and schedule goals.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure performance aligns with safety, cost, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, DFMEAs, and regulatory submissions.
- Apply formal problem-solving to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues.
- Conduct hands-on testing for concept validation and regulatory approval.
- Communicate project status transparently to management.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 15 years of mechanical design/development experience in private, public, or military sectors.
- Experience with precision machined parts, injection-molded plastics, and soft goods used in SCBA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in pneumatic/hydraulic systems design and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling tools (SolidWorks, Inventor, or CREO).
- 10 years of new product design experience in SCBA or equivalent.
- Strong skills in FEA/CFD/Moldflow, GD&T, and statistical analysis.
- Passion for collaborative product development and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary : $160,000 - $200,000
