Brief Role Summary
This role supports high‑volume SMT and PCBA manufacturing by keeping production equipment running reliably and efficiently. You’ll own equipment uptime, troubleshoot issues on the line, support new equipment installs, and partner closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality to improve throughput and stability.
Day to Day
• Maintain and troubleshoot SMT and PCBA equipment including pick‑and‑place, screen printers, reflow ovens, and AOI/SPI systems
• Respond to equipment issues on the production floor to minimize downtime
• Perform root cause analysis and implement long‑term corrective actions
• Monitor equipment performance metrics such as downtime and OEE
• Calibrate and re‑qualify equipment to meet quality and process standards
• Support new equipment installs, line setup, and equipment qualification
• Maintain PM schedules, SOPs, and maintenance documentation
• Work closely with Process Engineering and Production to resolve line issues
• Train technicians and operators on proper equipment use and best practices
• Coordinate with vendors for troubleshooting, parts, and technical support
• Ensure safety, ESD, and operational compliance in the manufacturing environment
Must Haves
• 3–7 years of hands‑on equipment maintenance experience in SMT or PCBA manufacturing
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated systems
• Experience supporting SMT production line equipment in a high‑volume environment
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and equipment lifecycle management
• Experience with root cause analysis methods (5 Whys, 8D, Fishbone, RCA)
• Familiarity with PLCs, machine control software, and automation troubleshooting
• Comfortable using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
• Associate degree or equivalent technical training in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation fields
Plusses
• Experience supporting NPI, line bring‑up, and equipment commissioning
• Familiarity with MES or SFC systems and equipment integration
• Background driving equipment reliability, uptime, and performance improvements
• Experience working in fast‑paced, high‑mix or high‑volume manufacturing environments
Salary : $90,000 - $105,000
