Overview:
The Electrical Component Tester is responsible for evaluating returned electrical components—such as breakers, meters, and controllers—as part of the RMA process. This role plays a critical part in root cause analysis and disposition decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Strong wiring, documentation, and problem-solving skills are essential. This position collaborates closely with Field Service and Quality teams to improve testing procedures and enhance equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and test returned electrical components (e.g., breakers, meters, controllers) to identify defects.
- Support root cause analysis and provide input for disposition decisions.
- Develop and maintain testing procedures and set up test benches.
- Interpret electrical schematics, engineering documents, and technical procedures.
- Document test results accurately and communicate findings to relevant teams.
- Collaborate with Field Service and Quality teams to improve testing processes and equipment reliability.
- Experience with failure mode analysis, testing protocols, programming protection relays, gateways, configuration parameters, and performing Ductor testing.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 4 years of experience testing electrical components.
- Hands-on experience with switchgears and breakers.
- Proven ability to write testing procedures and configure test benches.
- Strong ability to interpret electrical schematics, engineering documents, and technical procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
