Job Description: Development Business Analyst (BA/QA)

As a Development Business Analyst, this resource will be focused on documenting and standardizing the software development deliverables across all divisions. This role will help the implementation teams across all divisions as they map current processes and advance to a more modern system. We're looking for someone with strong experience overseeing system analysis in the field service, construction, or industrial space, with demonstrated proficiency in leveraging AI tools to enhance BA processes and a solid understanding of testing principles. Additionally, you will provide essential support for a project, leveraging your strong background in SDLC and application testing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

· Elicit and document requirements using Agile methodologies, tools, and techniques to articulate business needs; utilize AI tools to accelerate documentation, generate process summaries, and ensure consistency across requirements artifacts.

· Distinguish user requests from the underlying true requirements; leverage AI-powered analysis tools to identify patterns and surface hidden dependencies.

· Analyze and validate information gathered from multiple resources, reconcile conflicts and obtain stakeholder approval; use AI tools to perform gap analysis and impact assessment.

· Document current and future states using process map diagrams, cross-functional flowcharts and other supporting documentation; employ AI tools for process automation analysis, optimization recommendations, and diagram generation.

· Define testing strategy and requirements; create comprehensive test plans, test scripts, and test scenarios using AI tools to accelerate test case generation, identify edge cases, and ensure comprehensive coverage aligned with business requirements.

· Perform application testing activities including functional testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that solutions meet documented requirements and business objectives.

· Troubleshoot project deployment and environmental issues; perform root cause analysis and drive to resolution; use AI tools to analyze logs, identify patterns, and recommend solutions.

· Evaluate current business processes and system capabilities, identify opportunities (process or systems) and analyze potential solutions to support business goals and objectives using AI-powered analytics and benchmarking tools.

· Perform other duties as assigned to support business objectives and strategic corporate goals.

· Partner with and support various stakeholders to understand processes, systems, challenges and goals:

• Partner with the business to identify business needs, problems and opportunities using AI-assisted discovery techniques
• Partner with operations support team to ensure effective transition to support
• Define Quality Assurance requirements and acceptance criteria, execute test plans, manage user acceptance testing, and validate that solutions satisfy documented requirements
• Partner with internal development resources to ensure solutions meet business requirements

· Support a culture of continuous learning, including staying current with AI tools and automation capabilities relevant to BA and testing practices.

· Develop and champion IT project processes and procedures using Agile best practices and AI-enhanced workflow tools.

· Contribute to overall team effort by supporting other work not described here as required.

· Understand data conversions and help define data models; use AI tools to analyze data structures, validate mappings, and identify data quality issues.

Minimum Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or other four-year related degree

· 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst

· 2 years of hands-on experience using AI tools in BA functions (e.g., requirements gathering, documentation, process analysis, or test automation)

· Proven experience creating test plans, test scripts, and test scenarios

· Demonstrated experience with application testing methodologies and tools (functional, regression, UAT)

· Advanced oral and written communication skills with strong ability to influence and work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

· Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

· Experience with field service, construction, or industrial space

· Experience leveraging AI tools for documentation, analysis, and automation within software development projects

· Team player with aptitude to build and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships

· High attention to detail with strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

· Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools and platforms (e.g., test case generation, automated test script creation, intelligent test coverage analysis)

· Strong organizational and prioritization skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and testing initiatives
