Business Analyst (WOR Reporting / Data Analytics)
Location: San Ramon or Dublin, CA (Hybrid – 1x/week onsite)
Duration: 12 Month - Ongoing Contract
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst to support a leading utility client. This role will focus heavily on pulling and translating data into executive-level reporting, specifically building presentations (WOR, DOR, MOR decks) for leadership.
This is a highly visible role requiring strong analytical skills, polished communication, and the ability to work directly with leadership to drive operational insights and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain executive reporting decks (WOR, DOR, MOR) using data from Excel and SQL
- Pull, analyze, and validate data to ensure accuracy in PowerPoint presentations
- Partner with leadership to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for operational efficiency
- Perform complex data analysis and develop customized reports
- Create and refine data models to support business decision-making
- Develop and track metrics/KPIs to support strategic initiatives
- Present findings and recommendations to leadership
- Support ad hoc analysis and reporting needs across teams
- Manage small to mid-size projects and deliverables
Required Qualifications
- 4 years of Business Analytics or Analyst experience
- Strong experience pulling and working with data in Excel and SQL
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint (building data-driven executive presentations)
- Experience presenting insights and recommendations to leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with high motivation, adaptability, and drive
- Ability to work onsite in Dublin or San Ramon 1x per week
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building Power BI (PBI) reports or dashboards
- Experience working in utilities, operations, or large enterprise environments
- Exposure to KPI development and performance tracking
