Insight Global is seeking a Building Engineer to join the team of one of their clients! The ideal candidate will have a background in Data centers, HVAC, energy efficiency, assisting mechanical engineering designs for repairs, upgrades, and recommissioning of existing facilities, independently or as a member of a team, including good communication skills and the ability to work with a group of experienced professionals. The candidate will be responsible for working with contractors on repairs, upgrades, and recommissioning of existing facilities, independently or as a member of a team. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years' experience with knowledge in mechanical HVAC, controls, piping, and plumbing. This role will work in a building that houses a large 26,000 square feet data center. The building is over 300,000 square feet and houses, multiple tenants.
Must Haves:
- 5 years of experience in a commercial setting
- EPA Universal License
- Experience in maintenance and repair of HVAC, boilers, heaters, pumps, refrigerant systems, compressors, water systems, etc.
- They don’t necessarily need to have experience repairing these
- They are expected to know how to diagnose an issue – What is causing the problem and what needs to be done to fix it.

About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled Mobile HVAC Engineer to support critical infrastructure across multiple sites. This is a highly valued position where you’ll be the sole HVAC mechanic responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting essential systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide HVAC support for Network Switch buildings (critical infrastructure)
- Perform:
- Troubleshooting and triage of HVAC systems
- Preventative maintenance
- Compressor and motor replacements
- General handyman tasks (electrical and plumbing as needed)
- Ensure operational reliability across 6 buildings in Rochester and 7 sites in Buffalo
- Maintain compliance with EPA Universal Certification
