Position: Assembly Seibi (Maintenance) Technician
Location: San Antonio, TX 78264
Duration: 20-month contract
Working Hours: 40 hours a week. 8-5 with 50% travel to Mexico, Japan, and Canada to assist other plants
Must Haves:
- Strong PLC programming/troubleshooting experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical circuits and industrial controls
- 2 year technical degree or completion of trade school program (EET or Industrial Maintenance Technology) and/or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
Day-to-day:
Insight Global is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Assembly Seibi Technician.
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide technical/skilled support to Assembly Final Assembly Engineering team. This includes design/drawing review, buyoff support, installation/commissioning, and equipment start-up support.
Reporting to the Seibi Manager, the person in this role will support the Final Assembly Production Engineering department's objective to provide high-quality, low cost and reliable plant Equipment and control systems
What you’ll be doing:
- Review equipment specifications and design, identify improvements, conduct vendor buyoffs to confirm equipment functions,
- Install equipment, verify safety, quality, and productivity of equipment.
- Investigate to determine modification requirements. Implement modifications. Trial and adjust.
- Lower cost and decrease project time by confirming safety, quality, and productivity of equipment at vendor, prior to installation. Minimize adjustment time during vehicle trials by performing quality trials at vendor.
- Lower cost and decrease project time by overseeing installation by vendor, and facilitating kanban process.
- Improve equipment quality and productivity by implementing adjustments, as identified during online vehicle trials.
- Confirm quality results by secondary method (Torque check, vacuum profiles, etc) - Install, setup and troubleshoot Toyopuc and Allen-Bradley program controllers
- Provide training to Maintenance members on newly implemented equipment
- Share Subject Matter Expert knowledge to local NAMC Maintenance and Production Members
- Travel up to 50% at times.
