What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Director (Managing DVM) position at Innovetive Petcare?
Department: Veterinarians
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Cobb Animal Clinic is a long-standing, community-rooted practice in Greensboro, North Carolina, known for building real relationships with clients and delivering dependable, high-quality care without losing the human (and pet) connection. We’re looking for a Medical Director who wants to shape medicine, mentor a team, and have a genuine voice in how a hospital evolves—not just maintain the status quo.
What Makes This Role Different
This isn’t a title-only leadership position. You’ll have the autonomy to:
• Influence medical standards and case approach
• Mentor and develop fellow veterinarians and support staff
• Partner directly with operations leadership to guide hospital direction
• Bring new ideas to life—whether clinical, cultural, or operational
If you’ve been wanting to step into leadership but avoid corporate red tape, this is that middle ground: support without micromanagement.
About the Hospital
Cobb Animal Clinic has been serving the Greensboro community for decades, offering a wide range of services including preventive care, dentistry, surgery, and diagnostics. The hospital has a loyal client base and a collaborative team that values consistency, compassion, and practicality in care.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Leading the medical team and setting the tone for clinical excellence
• Collaborating with hospital leadership on growth, staffing, and culture
• Supporting and mentoring associate veterinarians
• Maintaining a balance of clinical work and leadership responsibilities
• Helping shape a positive, sustainable work environment for the entire team
Who This Role is Perfect For
• A veterinarian ready to step into leadership—or an experienced Medical Director looking for a more collaborative environment
• Someone who values both clinical autonomy and team development
• A doctor who wants to influence culture, not just participate in it
• A leader who enjoys building relationships—with clients, team members, and the broader community
