Are you passionate about working with animals and committed to providing top-notch care? West Hills Animal Hospital & Emergency Center is looking for a dedicated Kennel Attendant to join our team!
Please note: This is not a seasonal position. We are looking for candidates who are available to work indefinitely.
Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:
- Kennel Duties:
- Provide daily care for hospitalized and boarding animals, including feeding, cleaning, and exercising
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kennel environment
- Assist with basic grooming such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
- Observe animal health and behavior, and promptly report any concerns to veterinary staff
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- May assist with handling animals during examinations or procedures
- Accurately document animal care and treatments
- Day Care Duties (in addition to kennel duties):
- Monitor one-on-one playtimes with dogs of all breeds and temperaments
- Provide attention, enrichment, and socialization for day care guests
- Administer food and treats per owner or hospital instructions
- Maintain and transport hospital laundry to/from our 24-hour facility
- Assist with check-in and check-out of boarding and day care pets
- Prior experience working with animals preferred
- Knowledge of basic animal care and handling
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures is a plus
- Ability to lift and perform physically demanding tasks
