About the Job
The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting the Sourcing Manager in managing supplier relationships, maintaining up-to-date raw material information, and ensuring all documentation and samples are properly collected and distributed. This role plays a key part in sourcing materials for both existing inventory and new R&D formulations, helping ensure quality and timely availability of raw materials.
What You’ll Do
Supplier Information & Pricing
- Maintain accurate and current product lists for each supplier
- Gather updated pricing quotes to ensure accurate raw material cost information
- Support the Sourcing Manager in qualifying secondary and alternate suppliers
Document Collection & Management
- Collect required documents for qualified raw materials in the company inventory system
- Source and collect documents for new raw materials used in R&D formulation
- Provide requested documentation to the Sales team in response to customer inquiries
Raw Material Sourcing & Samples
- Assist in sourcing samples for new raw materials from secondary/alternate suppliers
- Submit raw material samples to R&D and Quality for validation testing
- Source raw material samples for new customer projects in R&D formulations
- Ensure the purchasing team receives all necessary information for new materials, including documentation templates
Experience and Education
- 1–3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management
- Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or R&D-related raw materials preferred
- Experience collecting and managing technical documentation for products or materials is a plus
