About the Job
The Change Control Specialist is responsible for managing and executing the site Change Control program within the DOT QMS system. This role ensures that all changes to products, processes, materials, equipment, and documentation are properly assessed, documented, approved, and implemented in compliance with applicable regulations for foods, dietary supplements, and cosmetics.
This position also supports and coordinates New Product Introduction (NPI) requests, ensuring structured evaluation, risk assessment, and cross-functional alignment from initiation through commercialization.
What You’ll Do
- Own and manage the full lifecycle of change control records within the DOT QMS system
- Initiate, review, and process change requests from:
- Internal departments (R&D, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Regulatory
- External customers/brand owners
- Ensure all changes are appropriately classified (major/minor) and justified
- Lead and document cross-functional impact assessments (quality, regulatory, operations, labeling, supply chain)
- Ensure risk assessments are completed with emphasis on: Product safety, Quality attributes, Regulatory compliance
- Route change controls for review and approval, ensuring alignment with Quality standards
- Track implementation and verify effectiveness of completed changes
- Serve as the central Quality coordinator for NPI requests within the QMS
- Intake and log all new product requests from customer service
- Ensure proper integration of NPI activities into the Change Control system
- Identify gaps in the Change Control and NPI processes and drive improvements
- Support CAPA investigations related to change management
- Support other functions of the document control and quality teams as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 years of experience in Quality Systems, Change Control, or Regulatory roles
- Experience in food, dietary supplement, cosmetic, or pharmaceutical manufacturing required
- Experience with electronic QMS systems (DOT, MasterControl, TrackWise, etc.) preferred
