About the Job
The Microbiologist I position at Innovative Labs is vital to the success of the lab as well as the overall success of manufacturing quality products at Innovative Labs. In addition to other duties, the individual will become proficient in the microbial methodologies used by Innovative Labs. The Microbiologist I is directly supervised by the Laboratory Manager. The Microbiologist I is to work under minimal supervision upon completion of training.
What You’ll Do
- Perform microbial testing on environmental samples, raw materials, and finished products
- Order supplies and coordinate general lab maintenance
- Understand and operate all microbiological testing systems
- Create finished product certificates of analysis for product release
- Write procedures and test methods as needed
- Sign off on others work when trained to do so
- Maintain and calibrate assigned equipment
- Report deficiencies or malfunctions to the supervisor
- Maintain records of all quality activities as documented in procedures and test methods
- Handle samples and perform analyses according to established procedures and test methods
- Identify, record, and correct nonconformities
- Identify and record improvements
- Improve laboratory and/or quality activities on a continuous basis
- Organize samples for microbial testing
- Document analyses performed
- Laboratory cleaning and organization
- Train other employees
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Bachelor's degree in microbiology or related science
- The ability to read, speak, and understand basic English
- Must possess oral / written communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities
- Follow GMP standards and guidelines
- Understand and apply information set forth in SOP’s
- Handle confidential information
- Ability to cross-train in 1 or more areas within the Laboratory
