Shipping Clerk

Join a Global Leader in Optical Medical Devices! A rapidly growing, internationally recognized medical device company in Orange County, CA is seeking a Shipping Clerk to add to their team on a contract basis.  The Shipping Clerk is primarily responsible for inventory control and logistics. This position is responsible for daily activity of warehouse duties which include inventory control and shipping duties.

The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Performing daily, shipping, inventory control, and pulling of materials for shipping/deliveries, in an expeditious manner.
• Performing Assigned Shipping function daily: Packaging – Packaging/Assigning specific items to customer order & Shipping – Taking packaged orders and creating shipping labels accurately for the designated customer.
• Performing year end physical inventories.
• Shipping and preparing parcels for customer orders domestically complying with company shipping policies.
• Responsible for shipping, inventory control, proper storage and movement of material for the company’s warehouses.
• Ensuring compliance with procedures and requests updates to work instructions as required.
• Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to stocking preferences such as size, type, style, color, or product codes.
• Performing cycle counts and preparing results reports. Assisting in root cause and corrective action analysis to ensure inventory integrity for all material.
• Arranging stock parts in specific sequence for assembly.
• Utilizing the ERP System to enter records, ensuring transactions are performed correctly.
• Operating forklifts as required.
• Knowledge of the safety and legal procedures for handling and receiving goods.
• Providing support to cross functional teams to ensure accurate inventory and distribution management to comply with procedures.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma.
• Direct work experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, and domestic/international shipping.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• CA Driver’s License.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be aware of ERP systems and their functions as well as be able to use Microsoft Office programs like Excel and Word when needed.
