Job Overview
Support assembly shop-floor operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality manufacturing processes in alignment with the Mercedes Production System (MPS). The role focuses on process stability, continuous improvement, and production readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, improve, and maintain assembly processes to enhance quality, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for model changes, new technologies, and process modifications.
- Perform process capability studies, audits, FMEA, and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate process and product issues and drive countermeasures using structured problem-solving methods.
- Ensure equipment and processes operate at optimal conditions; define tooling and equipment specifications.
- Evaluate workstation layouts, standard times, and validate process designs.
- Support engineering changes, production trials, audits, and start-of-production (SMP) readiness.
- Analyze production performance data (downtime, quality, TPM, FTC) and report status.
- Support training of assembly team members, team leaders, and group leaders on process changes.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in automotive or manufacturing engineering.
- Strong problem-solving skills in a cross-functional, team-based environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to analyze complex processes and implement sustainable improvements.
Preferred Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in high-volume manufacturing environments.
- German language skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar engineering tools.
