Job Summary
Monitors the department’s performance, manage & allocate manpower and strengthen and develop the organization's production & planning structure. Develops, implements and improves complex manufacturing production processes and methods.
Responsibilities
Line Ownership & Performance Management
- Own a defined section of the assembly line (zone/module/station group)
- Monitor KPIs such as throughput, cycle time, downtime, and first-pass yield
- Act as the primary point of contact for all technical and operational issues within the assigned area
Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving
- Lead structured problem-solving activities using methodologies like: 8D 5 Whys Fishbone (Ishikawa)
- Drive containment, corrective, and preventive actions for recurring issues
- Work closely with quality, maintenance, and operators to eliminate defects
Continuous Improvement & Optimization
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
- Optimize line balance, station workloads, and material flow
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives (Kaizen, VSM, standard work improvements)
- Cross-Functional Coordination Interface with production supervisors, quality engineers, maintenance/controls teams, logistics/material flow teams
- Ensure alignment between departments to resolve bottlenecks and disruptions quickly
Process Stability & Documentation
- Maintain and improve standard work, work instructions, and process documentation
- Support new model launches, engineering changes, and ramp-ups
- Ensure processes are robust, repeatable, and audit-ready (e.g., for internal/external audits, PPAP readiness)
Minimum Requirements: 3-5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing as a cost center planner or equipment planner or lean consultant.
