Job Title: Manual Machinist (Lathe, Milling)
Pay Rate: $34 to $37/HR
Duration: 12 months
Location: Houston, TX
Work Schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (Monday - Thursday)
Shift: 6 AM -4:30 PM
We are looking for a Manual Machinist (Lathe, Milling).
- Sets up and operates manual lathe, precision metal cutting, and grinding machines such as lathes, milling machines, drills, and grinders to cut, make, and repair products made from metals. Works according to very precise specifications.
- Set up and operate manual lathes to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications.
- Operate manual end mills to perform milling, drilling, tapping, and other machining operations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, GD&T, and work instructions.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
- Perform accurate measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Maintain tight tolerances and ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.
- Perform machine adjustments, offsets, and minor maintenance as needed.
- Inspect finished work for accuracy; document results and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and team members to meet production schedules.
- Learning Hydrostatic testing of all pipes fabricated on-site.
- Work with the Mechanical Group to assemble gas turbine packages and the Compressor Assembly Group to assemble compressors.
- Work with the Test Group to set up test bays to perform gas turbine and compressor tests.
- Work with the Electrical and Instrumentation groups to build packages.
- Maintain and obey all EHS standards.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED or 10 years of relevant machining.
- 5 years of relevant experience in Manual Lathe Machining Manufacturing.
- Datum range of turbo-compressors) including development and interpretation of technical assembly instructions, build methods, and sequencing of core compressor internals and auxiliaries.
