We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Compliance Certification Engineer (UL / CSA / CE) with experience certifying industrial electrical equipment, power conversion systems, or distributed generation systems.
You will lead certification and regulatory compliance efforts for advanced industrial power systems. This role is critical to ensuring that complex electrical products—such as power electronics and turboexpander-generator systems—meet global safety and performance standards.
You’ll work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and external certification bodies to bring products from design through approval and into deployment. If you enjoy working at the intersection of engineering, standards, and real-world product delivery, this is a high-impact opportunity.
- Lead certification strategy for new and existing products, including timelines, testing plans, and regulatory pathways
- Ensure compliance with global standards (UL, CSA, CE, IEC, NFPA, IEEE)
- Review electrical designs (schematics, wiring, firmware, system architecture) for compliance risks
- Partner with external labs (UL, TÜV, CSA, Intertek) to coordinate certification testing
- Drive EMC/EMI compliance strategies, including pre-compliance and mitigation efforts
- Develop and maintain technical documentation (CE files, risk assessments, test reports, declarations of conformity)
Requirements
- 7 years of experience in electrical compliance, certification, or product safety engineering
- Strong expertise with UL, CSA, and CE certification processes
- Background in industrial power systems, power electronics, or distributed energy systems
- Deep knowledge of relevant standards (UL 1741, UL 1004, UL 508, NFPA 70, IEC/EN, IEEE 1547, LVD, CSA)
- Experience working with certification bodies and test labs
- Ability to review and influence electrical designs for compliance
Nice to Have:
- Experience with EMC/EMI testing and mitigation
- Familiarity with inverters, generators, or grid-connected systems
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
